Brother Moorer brough a sermon focused on avoiding distraction and prioritizing time with God using the story about Mary, Martha, and Jesus visiting their home. While Martha was distracted by serving, Mary chose to sit and listen to Jesus. Brother Moorer encouraged us to reflect on how we spend our time and whether we let busyness distract us from important spiritual activities. It can be easy to neglect time with God in favor of good but less important things and we must evaluate whether we have priorities straight and make sure we, and our children, have opportunities to strengthen our faith. We must avoid becoming so busy that spiritual growth suffers.
