What Should Be A Believer's Concerns Regarding Different Bible Translations?
Brother Crim helped us understand the importance of God's preserved word and how to properly use different Bible translations. He emphasized that everyone will be judged according to God's word, so He has ensured its preservation through commanding it be written and its enduring nature. Examples from scripture were provided showing God's oversight of his word. While no original autographs remain, many accurate manuscript copies exist attesting to the reliability of the biblical texts in their original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek languages. Various translation methods were then examined: word-for-word, thought-for-thought, and paraphrase approaches. Brother Crim expressed that we should use a word-for-word translation as our primary Bible in order to most accurately understand God's preserved word as revealed in the original biblical texts. Finally, when discussing translations with others, we should do so with gentleness and patience, avoiding quarreling.
